Hey you all. I want you to check out a site that i have been working on as a personal project. The idea came from http://www.pricegrabber.com only major difference is that my site is driven by a community of users. The idea is that everyone make a post about stuff they buy from different merchants and the data_base_ determeines the cheepest merchant per parish. That is the jist of it. I hope the site will be useful to others who are looking to find the cheepest stuff, both online or in store in Jamaica.

Its still in beta stage but i think its still pretty much finished. I just need to add some more categories and subcategories. Tell me what you think of the idea, register and test as you like. The site resides on a temp domain for now at http://www.myplace-ontime.com/price/

nice job. Good concept. I hope you continue to develop it. Marketing may be difficult But try to stick to it even in times when it feels like your reaching nobody.

Oh while looking through your web application i noticed your url's had a few % signs in them. URL Encode your things.. its the better way to do it.. and for security reasons you could even _base_64 encode your id's and then decode them on the receiving page.

I remember you telling me about this already. I want to know what are the security issues involved and how do i encode and decode. Thank you.(Cant learn enough especially as a newbie like me)

security wise there isn't a big issue its just that if you dont want your id's known to the public you can _base_64 encode it and then _base_ 64 decode it on the recieving page


URL encoding now just looks better. % signs look messy and in some case they've caused parsing trouble
