Web site search engine optimization
by jahflasher 11 Months ago
I am looking to implement some search engine optimization on my site. Have checked the web but i have seen where some are saying the old method of _meta_ tags is not the best. Do any of you know any other better method for implementing this most needed feature .

_meta_ tagging was the old way.. Basically poeple could spoof the search engines by packign their sites with _meta_ tags even though their sites didn't contain information relative to the tags..
What google does now is it searches the content on the page it self. so you must know and realize that Content Is King. Google compares _meta_ tags and content of pages.. and _base_d on the match up.. your page rank for a particular search term would be calculated.
You could also research url rewriting. Sef urls are pretty big with search engines..
Ensure you have unique page _title_s for every page.. so for example
the website _title_ is "website". when you click on item one's _link_ on website.com the page _title_ should change to website - item one or item - website. Whice ever one you prefer.
Thats basic sef in a nutshell.
On your error pages ensure you supply _link_s that'll help the visitor or the crawler to find its way to other relevant pages.
