The rumors of google entering the mobile market been going around for a while. But now it doesn't seem like much of a rumor when htc says Yow its happening..

A few blatantly obvious things gonna happen for it.

Most of the Google web applications will probably be tied into it. such as

maps
personalized homepage
Google talk im / voip from the device it self
Google rss

and the long string of stuff you see at Google labs thinking about it.

The lovely thing about all this is they partnered with htc which probably means windows mobile at its core.. (which kinda weird when you think bout it. google making use of the Microsoft mobile operating system ).

wonder if htc is gonna start running a google mobile operating system.. and then decide how to push forward _base_d on the results of how it works?.

Would be lovely if google tried to use the Ubuntu mobile Edition to power it. and knowing how google likes to do things I wouldn't be surprised if this was linux _base_d mobile os over windows mobile.

More confirmation. Seems this is the real story.

Google bought a company called android back in the day right. That company is the same company that worked on the software that ran on dangers sidekick. Seems since then google's been working on a mobile operating system / platform. The switch it self isn't by google (hardware) Just the operating system. And as we've all already garnered the device will incorparate google services while not being locked to just that.. I'm not sure what kind of applications it'll be able to use though. I really hope they dont come with a java apps or web apps only solution.

With the google mobile os though maybe just maybe i can have full integration without syncing to my pc. This is excellent.

google announced that they should announce this whole thing sometine mid or late september. If were' gonna see the real thing before the end of the year? I'm not so sure.
