After a look on the MiPhone websiteI realize that my community is on the list that should be able to get the 128Kb connection. I want to run a test with the intention of using them as a back up. Does anyone have a suggestion for the cheapest phone from Miphone I could use? I want a hand set with a good mix of low cost and been easy to setup on my computer, readily available drivers is very important.

Oddly enough miphones website doesn't even list prices. Just design specifications. Relative to being easy to setup nokia and Motorola are always good choices. Relatively simple. If you chose to with an ir setup for nokia it'll be realy eash as it'll pick up as an ir modem.
Motorola on the other hand drivers are typically easy to find for their devices ad motorola mobilephone tools comes with every device driver for all their handset, and is an easy application to locate.
So there you have it Nokia or Motorola for ease of setup. As for price I'ld say just pick the lowest costing brew capable handset from either brand.
